Lorenzo D’Erasmo, frame drum and percussions
He worked both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles and orchestras such as: MDI Ensemble, Sentieri Selvaggi, Divertimento Ensemble, Orchestra Università Statale di Milano
He also collaborated with composers and conductors including: Beat Furrer, Simon Steen-Andersen, Unsuk Chin Toshio Hosokawa, Francesco Filidei, Emilio Pomarico, Dario Buccino
After his Conservatorie’s studies he begins his path of in-depth study of frame drums from Italian, Mediterranean, Turkish and Arab tradition with Masters such as: Andrea Piccioni, Murat Coşkun, Elias Habib and others, studying the different approaches and repertoires of this instruments.
This interest led him to the deepening of musical traditions, study of different musical systems and musical forms of the repertoire related to frame drums. Currently he is also studying Medieval Music and the repertoire related to frame drums.
Lorenzo D’Erasmo studies Percussion Instruments with Andrea Pestalozza at the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory of Milan and at the Hochschule fur Musik of Freiburg Im Breisgau with Berharnd Wulff.He has performed in different festivals including: Biennale di Venezia Musica, Milanomusica Festival, MITO Settembre Musica, TransArt Festival, Mantova Chamber Music Festival, Sound Of Wander, Spinola-Banna Foundation for Art.
