Luca Pissavini, double bass
Luca Pissavini was born in Milan in 1980. He starts his music career on electric bass in rock and prog groups. He then studies classical and jazz double bass as a self taught musician. He graduated from the master at the Civica Music School of Milan and from the Vittadini academy of Pavia. In 2012 studies with Barre Phillips; He has records with: Ken Vandermark (RARA AVIS, european tour during 2013), Sabir Mateen (Novara Jazz, Noto Two label). He performs in: Jap Zitaly (2012), Umbria Jazz (2012/3), Novara Jazz (2013). Luca wins the Porsche Jazz Festival with Nido Workshop (2012). He is currently active as leader or member of groups involved in free improvisation, jazz and experimental music.
